retrospect

retrospectretrospect. as a dj: equals = 1200s, vinyl and occasionally digital sources. divided by = downtempo (trip-hop, instrumental hip-hop, jazz, electronic), golden/independent era hip-hop, dub reggae, funk, psych/progressive rock, Factory Records, a ton more music+. multiplied by = previous efforts and guest apps at Saint-Ex, Wonderland and WMUC radio among other spots. but never subtracts the will to “be water” …to play and mesh as many different styles as possible in each and every one of his outings…from the equation. Hip-hop, dancehall, old school

Advesary to Mario by day and moonlighting hip-hop DJ after hours, King Koopa is both a busy and evil turtle. After a brief hiatus the King is back and hes going straight for Princess Peach! New York City.

jacob danielHaving a ton of musical influences throughout his life, it’s no wonder Jacob Daniel would fall into the rabbit hole of the EDM scene. From his beginnings in the scene in Roanoke, he has always loved the energy and vibe that a DJ brings to the party.

Specializing in breaks, Jacob first began learning the art of mixing in 2003. After a 4 month hiatus, he moved to the DC area in the winter of 2004 and hasn’t looked back.

Always able to keep the heads bobbing and the feet moving, 2008 is looking promising as Jacob Daniel is quickly becoming a house hold name in the DC breaks scene.  Virginia.
